Uisce 4 U drinking water filters and filtration systems mainly use activated carbon, powdered carbon or moulded carbon blocks. The activated carbon filter for water is used mainly for odour removal and taste improvement. Activated carbon is very effective and will also help reduce organic (and some inorganic) impurities from the water. It is possible to have a combination system with another drinking water filter to reduce or remove certain other impurities. Moulded carbon block filters will also reduce particulate matter.
Activated carbon cannot effectively eliminate water hardness (which contributes to film on tea and coffee) and therefore a water softener is required. It also only offers a limited or minimal reduction of inorganic compounds, heavy metals, aluminium, fluoride, nitrates etc.
For customers who wish to reduce all the impurities found in their water supply, reverse osmosis (RO) water purifying systems are available.
Water softeners are used to remove potentially damaging lime-scale from your water supply. As we are an independent contractor not tied to any water softener manufacturer, we can choose the best water softener to suit each individual customer need. For most of our customers, we choose from either the Puricom or Ecosoft range of softners.

We supply 10 and 20 inch filter housings in both standard and jumbo sizes. We also supply spun, wound, stainless steel net, nylon net, activated carbon, carbon block & nitrate cartridges for the aforementioned housings.
