Domestic water used for drinking, washing or cleaning, whether flowing from a mains supply or private well can sometimes be turbid and contain sediment, sand or clay.
To eliminate this problem it is necessary to install a Sand/Turbidity filter.
Over the years we have developed effective and inexpensive methods of sediment filtration which are outlined below:
Sand/Turbidity Column Filters
The Sand / Turbidity Column filter works by a simple process of mechanically filtering the incoming water supply through a series of differing grades of silica sand.
Sediment is trapped within the sand until a backwash is performed.
The Automatic valve which is mounted on the column will perform a backwash as often as programmed.
During this backwa sh stage, the water cycle is reversed and all of the sediment is washed out to a drain thus, the Sand / Turbidity Column filter is returned to full filtration capacity. Below are some of the options available:
|Vessel Size||10 x 44||10 x 54||13 x 54||16 x 65|
|Service flow rate – m3/hr||0.4||0.6||1.0||1.6|
|Backwash flow rate – m3/hr||0.7||1.1||2.0||3.4|
|Inlet / Outlet Connections||¾ “||¾ “||1″||1″|
|Drain line connection||¾ “||¾ “||¾ “||¾ “|
