Puricom Water Softeners
The solution to hard water is to use a water softener. The idea behind a water softener is simple. The calcium and magnesium ions in the water are replaced with sodium ions. Since sodium does not prec¬ipitate out in pipes or react badly with soap, both of the problems of hard water are eliminated. In the process of ion replacement, the water supply for the house (other than drinking water) runs through a bed of tiny beads or through a chemical matrix called zeolite.
The beads or zeolite are covered with sodium ions. As the water flows past the sodium ions, they swap places with the calcium and magnesium ions. Eventually, the beads or zeolite contain nothing but calcium and magnesium and no sodium, and at this point they stop softening the water. It is then time to regenerate the beads or zeolite.
The Puricom range of water softeners are available in the following options:

Eco Water Softeners – less salt, less water!
The Ecowater range of water softeners have a number of economic features such as an Electronic meter control and proportional brining system, achieving one of the lowest running cost machines of its class.
It monitors your water consumption and only regenerates when required whilst ensuring you a 100% supply of softened water, yet consuming the minimum amount of salt and water used in the regeneration cleaning process. Due to its unique low height, the Atlasoft 9 litre unit can be installed below the majority of kitchen sinks. Also available in 24 Litre.
